A STORY FOR EVERY ANGEL
Book Angel
Because a gift can make a child smile this Christmas, but a book can open a door that stays open for years.
NEW FOR 2026
Every Angel will receive a book, too.
Beginning with our 2026 season, Angels Among Us will include a book with the gifts prepared for every approved child in our program.
The book is in addition to the child's Angel Tree gifts. It does not replace a need, wish, or other item selected by the donor.
WHY WE'RE DOING IT
Inspired by a lifetime of putting books into children's hands.
Book Angel was created in honor of Dolly Parton's example and her extraordinary commitment to childhood literacy.
Our goal is simple: when a family receives its Angels Among Us gifts, every child will also take home a story of their own.
One book per child
Every approved child will have a Book Angel tracked alongside their Angel.
Age appropriate
Whenever possible, books will be selected with the child's age and interests in mind.
Packed with their gifts
Our system tracks the Book Angel so the family's gifts are not marked ready for distribution until the book is prepared.
FOR CHILDREN UNDER 5
Dolly Parton's Imagination Library
Dolly Parton's Imagination Library provides eligible children with age-appropriate books mailed to their homes each month.
Book Angel does not replace this program. We want eligible families to know about this resource so books can continue arriving long after Christmas.
OUR COMMUNITY CAN HELP
We'll also open ways for the community to support Book Angel.
As the Christmas season approaches, we'll publish ways businesses, groups, and individuals can help provide books for Angels Among Us children.
Book Angel is an independent Angels Among Us initiative inspired by Dolly Parton's legacy of childhood literacy. Angels Among Us is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Dolly Parton's Imagination Library or The Dollywood Foundation.
