Who may apply?
Parents, guardians, foster parents, kinship caregivers, or other qualifying caregivers may apply for eligible children who primarily reside in the household.
Service area
Children must primarily reside within the geographic service area announced for the 2026 Angels Among Us Angel Tree Program.
Proof of current residence may be required during application review.
Financial need
Families must demonstrate financial need through at least one approved qualification method.
Meeting one of these conditions may establish financial eligibility, but it does not guarantee acceptance into the program.
Hardship exceptions
Not every family experiencing genuine hardship will fit neatly into a public-assistance or income requirement. Families may request a hardship exception.
- Recent job loss or major reduction in work hours
- House fire, natural disaster, or displacement
- Recent death or major family crisis
- Unexpected custody or placement of children
- Significant emergency expense
- Another substantial temporary hardship
Supporting information may be requested. Hardship exceptions are reviewed individually and are not guaranteed.
One application per household
Families should submit one application containing all children for whom assistance is requested.
Duplicate applications submitted under different adults, addresses, phone numbers, or identities may be reviewed as a program-integrity concern.
Other Christmas assistance
Applicants must disclose whether any child is registered for Christmas gift assistance through another organization, church, school, charity, Angel Tree, or similar program.
Previous participation
Families who have participated before may apply again. Previous participation does not automatically disqualify a household.
When demand exceeds available capacity, first-time families, acute hardships, and other priority circumstances may receive preference.
What does not automatically disqualify you?
Angels Among Us verifies circumstances, but does not attempt to police every personal financial decision made by an applicant.
Intentional fraud, falsified documents, materially false information, duplicate applications, or concealed duplicate Christmas assistance are different matters and may result in denial.
Verification
Depending on the application, Angels Among Us may request reasonable documentation such as:
- Proof of identity
- Proof of current residence
- Proof of child age
- Guardianship or custody documentation when appropriate
- Proof of qualifying public assistance
- Income documentation when required
- Documentation supporting a hardship exception
We will seek only the information reasonably necessary to review the application.
Eligibility does not guarantee acceptance
Angels Among Us has limited program capacity. A household may meet the eligibility requirements but still be waitlisted if available Angel, volunteer, or donor capacity has been reached.
