PROGRAM RULES
These terms help Angels Among Us operate a fair, consistent, and responsible Angel Tree Program for participating families, children, donors, volunteers, and community organizations.
Angels Among Us depends on trust among families, donors, volunteers, and our community. These rules exist to protect that trust and help direct limited resources toward children experiencing genuine need.
Angels Among Us operates a community Angel Tree Program connecting approved children with community members who voluntarily purchase Christmas gifts.
The program depends upon donations, community participation, volunteer capacity, host locations, and other available resources.
For the 2026 season, Angels Among Us serves families residing in Graves County, Kentucky.
The household's primary residential address must be within the service area. We may verify the address provided.
An application must be submitted by a parent, legal guardian, or other authorized adult caregiver responsible for the children included in the application.
Angels Among Us may request reasonable documentation establishing residence, identity, child age, custody, guardianship, or another relevant relationship.
Each household should submit one application for the program season unless Angels Among Us instructs otherwise.
Additional applications must not be created using another email address, telephone number, name, address, or other information for the purpose of bypassing duplicate-application controls.
Applicants must provide truthful, complete, and reasonably current information to the best of their knowledge.
Good-faith mistakes or explainable discrepancies are not automatically treated as fraud. However, intentionally false material information, falsified documents, deliberate omissions, or attempts to manipulate the process may result in denial or removal from the program.
By submitting an application, the applicant authorizes Angels Among Us to reasonably verify information necessary to determine eligibility, need, and program integrity.
We may request additional documents or explanations when information is incomplete, cannot be verified, or appears inconsistent.
When appropriate, verification issues may receive human review before a final decision.
Angels Among Us considers household circumstances, financial need, verification information, relevant hardships, and other factors established by the program.
Internal assessment tools may assist in organizing and reviewing information, but program decisions may include human review and consideration of documented circumstances.
Applying for assistance from another program does not automatically violate these terms.
However, families must notify Angels Among Us if a child included in the application receives substantially similar Christmas gift assistance from another program.
Intentional concealment of duplicate assistance may result in denial, removal from the program, or consideration in future program seasons.
Submitting an application does not guarantee assistance. Meeting basic eligibility requirements also does not guarantee acceptance.
Program capacity is limited. Decisions may depend upon available Angel capacity, donors, volunteers, resources, demand, and other program limitations.
Eligible households may be waitlisted or not accepted if available capacity has been reached.
Needs, wishes, interests, and sizes listed for an Angel are provided as guidance to donors.
Angels Among Us cannot guarantee that an Angel will be adopted, that every requested item will be purchased, a specific number of gifts, a particular brand, or a particular monetary value.
Public Angels contain only limited information intended to assist with gift selection. Private application records, financial information, verification documents, household address, applicant contact information, and internal records are not provided to donors.
Participation is also subject to our Privacy Policy.
During the adoption period, community members may select an available Angel from a participating location.
The donor may remove the Angel card from the tree. Before leaving, the donor should scan the QR code on the card and confirm the adoption when possible.
Confirmation records the Angel as adopted to reduce the risk of another donor accidentally selecting the same child.
The original Angel card and its QR code are part of the program's tracking system.
Donors should keep the card while shopping and return it with the gifts. The card should not be discarded, altered, duplicated to create another adoption, or used to falsely represent an adoption.
Donors voluntarily choose how much to spend and which items to purchase. Donors are not required to purchase every item listed for an Angel.
We encourage donors to use the child's needs, wishes, sizes, and interests as a guide and to prioritize needs within the donor's personal budget.
Unless Angels Among Us or the host location instructs otherwise, gifts should be returned unwrapped so they can be reviewed and organized.
Gifts should be returned by the posted deadline and to the return location designated for that Angel.
The original Angel card should be returned with the gifts. The host location or program staff may scan its QR code to record the return in the system.
Return check-in helps connect gifts to the correct Angel and maintain program accountability.
If a donor cannot return gifts by the deadline, the donor should contact Angels Among Us or the host location as soon as possible.
Angels Among Us may take reasonable steps to try to cover an Angel whose gifts are not returned, but cannot guarantee that an incomplete adoption can always be replaced.
Businesses, churches, and organizations hosting Angel Trees assist with displaying Angels, facilitating adoptions, and receiving gifts according to program instructions.
Host locations should use program information and tools only for authorized Angels Among Us purposes.
Accepted families must follow distribution instructions provided by Angels Among Us, including timing, location, identification, or other reasonable requirements.
Failure to pick up gifts or respond to important communications may affect the program's ability to complete distribution.
Book Angel is an Angels Among Us initiative intended to provide a book to each approved child in addition to their Angel Tree gifts, subject to program availability and capacity.
The Book Angel book does not replace a need or wish listed on the Angel card.
Book Angel is an independent Angels Among Us initiative and does not imply affiliation with, sponsorship by, or endorsement from another literacy program unless expressly announced.
Angels Among Us may deny, cancel, or remove participation when there is reasonable evidence of intentional fraud, falsified documents, false identity, materially false information, deliberate duplicate applications, system manipulation, misuse of a QR code, or concealed duplicate assistance.
When reasonably possible, we will seek to distinguish good-faith mistakes from intentional misconduct.
Written policies exist to promote consistency, but no policy can anticipate every family circumstance.
Angels Among Us may consider documented hardship, exceptional circumstances, new information, administrative errors, and other situations reasonably requiring individual review.
A reasonable exception in one case does not automatically create an entitlement to the same exception in another case.
Angels Among Us may modify dates, locations, procedures, capacity, operational requirements, or other aspects of the program when reasonably necessary.
We may also suspend or cancel part or all of the program because of resource limitations, emergencies, safety concerns, circumstances beyond our control, or other significant operational reasons.
Angels Among Us is a community assistance program. Submission or approval of an application does not create a continuing entitlement to benefits, goods, money, future assistance, or participation in future program seasons.
Gifts provided by donors are voluntary contributions intended for the program and are subject to availability.
When an applicant selects a checkbox, electronically signs, submits an application, or uses another acceptance method presented by the system, that action may be electronically recorded as evidence of the corresponding acceptance or acknowledgment.
Angels Among Us may retain records of the terms version accepted, date, time, and other information reasonably necessary to maintain a record of the transaction.
The handling of personal information associated with the program is described in greater detail in our Privacy Policy.
Read the Privacy Policy →We may update these Terms as program needs, procedures, or requirements change. The version applicable to an application will generally be the version presented or in effect when the applicant accepts it, unless law or exceptional circumstances require otherwise.
These Terms and operation of the program will be interpreted in accordance with applicable laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the United States.
Questions concerning these Terms or program rules may be directed to Angels Among Us at (731) 332-1114.
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what information may appear publicly on an Angel.
